Tatum leads the research and administrative teams at CarterBaldwin. Prior to joining CarterBaldwin, she held positions in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors.

A native of North Carolina, Tatum earned a BA in English from Davidson College. Following graduation, she joined AmeriCorps (the “domestic Peace Corps”), logging over 1200 volunteer hours in a program to increase both middle school teachers’ and students’ computer and technology proficiencies.

After earning a master’s degree from the University of Alabama’s School of Library and Information Studies, Tatum joined the Birmingham Museum of Art. She conducted fundraising research in the Museum’s development department before assuming the role of Library Director. During her 12 year tenure at the Museum’s library, she increased the holdings of both traditional print and archival collections by 75% and expanded services to museum staff and the community. She was also active in building the Museum’s digital presence, playing a key role in developing online databases of the museum’s artworks.

After moving to Atlanta in 2014, Tatum joined a corporate archival agency, where she led a broad team of archivists across all client sectors. She and her team built and managed both physical and digital archives for major corporations and sports teams, fashion and luxury brands, and nonprofits, showing clients how to preserve, access, and monetize their assets.

Tatum holds a certification in both diversity and internet recruiting from AIRS. When she’s not working, you can find her on a hiking trail, reading, or traveling.
