Susan DeWoody, EdD
Susan brings more than two decades of experience in higher education administration to her Consultant role at CarterBaldwin, having served on college and university campuses in roles across student and faculty recruitment, advising, campus life, NCAA Division II athletics, and academic affairs.
A lifelong learner who is passionate about “all things higher education,” Susan joined the firm from Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU), where she served as Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Prior to OBU, Susan served as Vice President and Dean for the School of Adult and Graduate Studies at Montreat College, and as Associate Vice President at John Brown University, where she led the multi-million-dollar enrollment management and academic administrative operations for the undergraduate online degree completion and graduate programs.
Susan is a first-generation college graduate and Oklahoma native who earned her EdD in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, MS in College Student Personnel Services from Northeastern State University, and BS in Education from Arkansas Tech University. She serves on the executive board of The Consortium for Global Education and is a Commissioner on Chief Academic Officer Commission of The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
In her free time, Susan loves baking, shopping, watching Oklahoma University Sooner football (Boomer!), and spoiling her two rescue dogs, Chester and Millie. She has been married to Dr. Dale DeWoody (English PhD and writer) for nineteen years. Together they enjoy serving as college ministry leaders and are members of Frontline Church.
