CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with the international disability ministry Joni and Friends, is pleased to share the announcement that Shawn Thornton has been selected as the ministry’s new President.

His life experience, professional background, and deep commitment to Christ uniquely position him to help advance our mission of sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with people who deal with disability worldwide.”
Currently the Senior Pastor of Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, CA, Shawn was raised by a mother who suffered a traumatic brain injury, giving him firsthand insight into the impact of disability on families. Under his leadership, Calvary developed a thriving disability ministry in partnership with Joni and Friends, serving as a model nationwide.
Shawn earned his PhD in organizational leadership from Capella University, an MDiv in pastoral studies from Capital Bible Seminary, and a BA in Bible from Appalachian Bible College.
