CarterBaldwin Executive Search is pleased to partner with the Society for Classical Learning in the placement of two executives: Genevieve Peterson as Chief Development Officer and Matthew Skinner as Chief Financial Officer.

Genevieve brings more than two decades of leadership in nonprofit and educational fundraising, with deep experience in institutional development, campaign strategy, donor engagement, and team leadership. Most recently, she served as Chief Development Officer for Great Hearts Academies and President of the Great Hearts Foundation, where she grew philanthropic support to more than $26 million annually.

Genevieve’s professional background also includes key leadership roles with Catholic Education Arizona, where she helped advance Arizona’s private-school tax-credit initiatives, and earlier work with mission-driven organizations across the country.

Born and raised in Southern California, Genevieve holds a BA in communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Matt joins SCL with more than two decades of financial and operational leadership in classical Christian education, most recently leading Fortis Consulting, advising schools nationwide on governance and financial sustainability. Prior to Fortis, Matt served nine years as Head of School at Heritage Preparatory School in Atlanta, where he more than doubled enrollment, grew annual giving from roughly $125,000 to nearly $1 million, and led over $40 million in fundraising while launching the high school and expanding campus facilities.

Earlier, Matt led The Heritage School in Texas and Hilton Head Christian Academy, strengthening financial systems and advancing key capital projects. At Landmark Christian School, he reversed a seven-year enrollment decline, eliminated a $1.9 million operating deficit, and raised more than $6 million.

Matt began his career in public accounting with BDO Seidman and Grant Thornton before founding his own CPA practice. He holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MEd in educational leadership from Covenant College.
