CarterBaldwin Executive Search announces the appointment of Dr. Kimon Sargeant as Senior Program Director for the Templeton Religion Trust. In this role, he will lead efforts to identify strategic partnerships and grantees that will accelerate the Trust’s Methods of Inquiry Initiative.

Sargeant joins Templeton with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit philanthropic leadership positions, with 15 of those years spent at the John Templeton Foundation serving as vice president, human sciences and vice president, programs. Most recently, Sargeant was the executive director of The Snider Foundation in Philadelphia. Early in his career, Sargeant was a program officer for The Pew Charitable Trusts and directed research and programs in human science for the Metanexus Institute.

Additionally, Sargeant spent five years as executive editor for In Character: A Journal of Everyday Virtues for the John Templeton Foundation.

A New York City native, Sargeant earned his BA in history from Yale University and his PhD in sociology from the University of Virginia. He also completed the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs.
