Kevin Ung, EdD
Kevin brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education, nonprofit leadership, and executive advising to his role as a search consultant.
As a first-generation college graduate and the son of Cambodian refugees, Kevin’s passion for higher education is deeply personal. He formerly served as Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship and TRIO McNair Scholars Program at Lee University, where he designed and implemented innovative research initiatives and experiential learning programs for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. His efforts were instrumental in advancing educational equity and breaking cycles of generational poverty.
The success of these programs garnered the attention of other schools. Kevin began consulting, training, and advising other organizations, eventually working with 68 colleges and universities as well as executive leaders in sectors outside of higher education on similar initiatives and strategic planning projects.
Kevin earned an EdD in higher education administration and a BS in sports management from Union University, as well as an MA in intercultural studies and TESOL from Wheaton College.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys pickleball, traveling, fitness programs, and spending quality time with his wife, Carly, and their two elementary school-aged daughters at the beach. He and his wife lead the kid’s ministry team at Gospel Community Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and he volunteers at United Way of the Ocoee Region, the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, and World Relief.
