CarterBaldwin Executive Search announces the appointment of two strategic finance executives at BHI Energy, an industry-leading specialty services and staffing solutions provider to the industrial/oil & gas, power generation, and transmission & distribution markets.
Steven Fergus joins BHI’s Transmission and Distribution Construction Services division from INROCK, a global performance drilling tools, equipment, and services company owned by Sandvik (OTCMKTS: SDVKY), where he served as Senior Director of Finance, charged with building the controls, reporting, and governance necessary for a publicly-traded company. Before his time at INROCK, he served as Senior Business Manager/Project Controls Manager for VOLT Power, LLC, a top provider of overhead and underground utility services. Steven started his career as an audit associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a BA in accounting and an MS in finance.
Sam Yohannes brings broad finance and accounting experience in the energy space across wind, solar, transmission, and distribution to his finance role in BHI’s Transmission and Distribution Engineering Services division. Sam joins BHI from Day & Zimmerman, a construction & engineering, staffing, and defense solutions provider for corporations and governments around the world. There, he served as Director of Finance, Projects, and Construction and was charged with guiding the company through a transition to a more project-oriented model and developing new commercial structures to drive growth. Sam was born in Ethiopia and immigrated to the US when he was eleven. He holds a BA in finance and banking from Lincoln University.
These newly-created roles will support BHI’s aggressive growth in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) space. The company has made four of its last five acquisitions in T&D in the previous three years and expects to continue growing through strategic investments and advancing scale. These roles will be charged with maximizing the financial returns for the growth engine of BHI, allowing the business to continue to expand its offerings with existing customers, leverage capital investment, and enter new markets.
