CarterBaldwin Executive Search and Quala are pleased to announce the placement of John Bauer as Vice President and General Manager of their Railcar & Specialty division. In this role, John will be responsible for leading the continued integration and expansion of Quala’s newly acquired rail cleaning and repair segment and will implement their industry-leading technologies and processes strategically within the business.
John joins Quala from Union Tank Car Company, where he most recently served as the Regional Operations Director for the southern region. In this role, John had responsibility for all aspects of operations for five international railcar repair facilities and full P&L for an organization of over $195 million and 860 individuals. John was also involved in the planning and implementation team for acquisition integration and new facility development, in addition to creating a cross-functional standard Shop Operations Playbook for the organization. John has worked in the railcar industry for nearly a decade and is excited about the opportunity to leverage that experience to scale Quala’s Rail & Specialty business.
John holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Baylor University.
