CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner again with Nucor Corporation in the appointment of Dominic Allam as General Manager for the steel solution company’s Automotive Group. Reporting to Nucor’s EVP of Commercial, Daniel Needham, Dominic will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive strategy for Nucor’s commercial future in the Automotive vertical.
Dominic joins Nucor with more than 20 years of strategic business development and marketing experience in the automotive and material science industry, most recently from DSM (XAMS: DSM) where he served as Senior Director for Commercial, Automotive Americas.
Dominic began his career at BASF (XNSE: BASF) as a research engineer where he served as an environmental regulatory projects leader performing auto emissions sampling for strategic customers. He would quickly be recruited to Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: STLA) to lead an automotive manufacturing plant as a production manager. Following Chrysler, Dominic served for more than 10 years in multiple roles at The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), ultimately landing as Global Business Services Manager for Marketing and Sales Solutions.
He also served at SABIC (SAU: SABIC), as Global Account Director for Automotive Engineered Thermoplastics and GM for the company’s Automotive North America team.
A Michigan native, Dominic earned his MBA from the University of Michigan and his BS in chemical engineering from Wayne State University.
