CarterBaldwin Executive Search is pleased to share the announcement that Grapevine Christian School has appointed Dr. Jeff Horner as vice president of academics for the K-12 independent school.

Horner brings more than 20 years of education instruction and leadership to Grapevine, spending the last 14 years at Whitefield Academy, in Atlanta, GA, serving as assessment and curriculum coordinator, and chairing the blended learning and history departments. Prior to Whitefield, Horner served as director of summer programs and teacher development at Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach, CA. He was also a member of the Curriculum Development Committee and Western Association Schools and Colleges Accreditation Committee.

He began his career teaching history at St. David’s School in Raleigh, NC, quickly getting tapped to lead the department. While at St. David’s, Horner oversaw the development of a Christian life program, initiated a new student leadership program, and raised the passing rate to 97% on the AP European History Exam.

Horner earned his EdD in educational leadership and administration and MA in theological studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, his MLitt in religious history from the University of Bristol in England, and his BA in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
