CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner again with Doyon Utilities (DU) in the appointment of Margaret Hernandez as Chief Financial Officer of the Fairbanks, Alaska-based utility.

Margaret’s first exposure to the energy industry came early in her career, during six years at Cook & Haugeberg, LLC (now Alliance CPAs), where she provided audit and tax services to regional utilities including Golden Valley Electric Association, Fairbanks Natural Gas (now Interior Gas Utility), and the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

She joins Doyon Utilities from Family Centered Services of Alaska, a leading Fairbanks-based nonprofit that provides behavioral and mental health services, education, and foster care to Alaskan youth and their families, where she served as Chief Financial Officer.

A lifelong Fairbanks resident, Margaret chairs the board of Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union and recently completed her term as Board Chair of the Alaska Society of CPAs. She has taught accounting at the University of Alaska Fairbanks as an adjunct professor since 2019.

Margaret holds an MBA and a BBA in accounting, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She is a licensed CPA.
