CarterBaldwin together with global healthcare logistics company Owens & Minor, Inc. (NYSE: OMI) announces Carlos Soto has joined OMI as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing for their Global Products business.

Carlos joins Owens & Minor with over 20 years of global operations experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical manufacturing, most recently as vice president of manufacturing and operations for Japanese pharmaceutical company, Takeda (OTCMKTS: TKPHF) (formerly Shire). There, he oversaw a global facility footprint with more than 5,000 employees and $4.5B in revenue and was responsible for substantial improvements in quality and net profit. He was also recognized for creating a “best place to work” and building a diverse and inclusive culture.

Prior to Takeda, Carlos was Corporate Head of the Global BioSurgery Network of Baxalta (formerly Baxter Healthcare) and led integration efforts in over 120 countries during its acquisition by Shire. Earlier, Carlos held leadership roles at several global PE-backed and public manufacturers including Medisearch, NP Medical, and Baxter International.

At Owens & Minor, Carlos will join the Global Products executive leadership team, running manufacturing operations spanning nine plants and 13,000 employees. Carlos will be responsible for leading a continuously improving manufacturing operation that is and stays world-class.

Born in Peru, Carlos spent his childhood in Puerto Rico, earning his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. He earned his Executive MBA from the University of New Orleans.
