Southwire hires Burt Fealing as Executive Vice President and General Counsel

CarterBaldwin and Southwire are pleased to announce that Burt Fealing has joined the company as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Burt will report to CEO Stuart Thorn and have responsibility for legal strategy and developing the legal organization to support Southwire’s global growth strategy. Additionally, he will be charged with preventing and preempting risk while working with the Board of Directors to navigate regulatory challenges of strategic business initiatives.

Fealing is an accomplished legal executive and attorney with 15+ years of experience as corporate counsel and 20+ years in the field of law. Most recently at ITT Corporation, he successfully designed and implemented a five year plan for legal and regulatory compliance as the company expanded its operations in South America, Russia, and the Middle East. Additionally, he led securities compliance and corporate governance considerations during a joint spin-off of the company’s $5.5b defense and $3.5b water businesses. Fealing has extensive expertise advising Boards of Directors, CEOs and C-Suite executives on corporate governance and regulatory compliance for publicly-traded and private companies within multiple industries.

Fealing holds a BA from Williams College and a JD from Harvard Law School.
