CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to announce Chris Hornsby has become a Partner of the firm, leading the K-12 education practice.

Chris joined the firm in 2015 with an expertise in healthcare IT recruitment, but quickly found his “sweet spot” at CarterBaldwin in the nonprofit and K-12 education spaces, where he has spent the past six years honing his understanding of the complexities of secondary school administration and gaining a deep appreciation for the nuances of K-12 leadership. During this time, he has developed an extensive network of executive leaders within top nonprofit, higher education, and K-12 organizations.

Chris also spent more than three years as Executive Director of Radical Mentoring, a nonprofit that leverages the life experience of more senior professionals to mentor younger men in intentional small group settings. Under Chris’s leadership, Radical Mentoring adopted a web-based model that expanded their global footprint and scale significantly.

Chris began his career at a start-up software company, selling to university systems, for-profit training centers, and corporate entities. He helped the company achieve national presence and it was ultimately sold to Kaplan, a worldwide leader in certification and test preparation, assessment, and learning services. Following the acquisition, Chris’s role expanded to Regional Director of Sales, where he continued to sell software solutions into the education market.

As a Partner, Chris will continue his successful work growing and strengthening the K-12 education search practice, partnering with clients in the identification and placement of the best talent for their most critical leadership roles.

Chris holds a BA in finance from the University of Georgia and serves on the advisory board of The 3:15 Project. With three elementary, middle and high school aged kids, Chris and his wife, Shanna, are always on the move. When he does get a free moment, Chris enjoys outdoor sports, cooking, and exploring Atlanta’s great restaurants.
