Restore NYC has announced the appointment of Scott Tanksley, Associate Partner at CarterBaldwin Executive Search, to their board of directors. Restore is a nonprofit organization that through survivor-informed solutions for housing, counseling, and economic empowerment is making freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the U.S.

At CarterBaldwin, Scott leads C-level searches for national and international nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. His relationship with Restore developed while leading successful executive searches for President and then for Chief Operating Officer for the nonprofit.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Scott to Restore’s Board of Directors. During the executive search, he demonstrated a high level of awareness and sensitivity for the importance of Restore’s mission,” said Dorthe Tate, Chairwoman for Restore’s Board of Directors. “His passion for helping others and extensive background in nonprofit organization management makes him a dynamic and compelling addition to our board.”

Prior to joining CarterBaldwin, Scott founded two social enterprise startups, in addition to career chapters in corporate and ministry. He brings a unique lens to understanding the competency, pace, and passion necessary to drive progress in organizations that are vigorously pursuing their mission. He focuses his practice on serving the leadership needs of mission-driven and faith-based organizations.

“What drew me to Restore was how comprehensive their efforts are in providing care and pathways to truly restore people to a brighter, safer future,” Scott said. “It is an absolute honor to serve the team at Restore in this extended capacity.” I’m also looking forward to learning alongside my fellow board members and ultimately serving my nonprofit clients in a richer way.”

Scott earned his MA in regional planning from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and BS in political science and economics from Mississippi State University.
