CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with Butler Electric Cooperative (BEC) Board of Trustees, is pleased to announce that following a nationwide search, Timothy Lindahl has been selected as the next CEO of the El Dorado, KS cooperative. Tim will replace retiring CEO Dale Short.

Tim joins BEC from Wheat Belt Public Power in Sidney, NE, where he was CEO and General Manager. He began his career as a small business owner and technology entrepreneur. Tim joined Wheat Belt Public Power early in his career and rose from an IT role to CEO. During his tenure, he drove a successful broadband rollout, led the planning and implementation of a large-scale enterprise utility and broadband infrastructure enhancement plan, and led significant new revenue and services growth for the utility.

As both the face and strategic leader of BEC, Tim will develop and implement programs and improvements to ensure safety, performance, operational improvement, and growth for the benefit of BEC’s member-owners.

Tim received a BA in Business Management from Concordia University. He currently serves on a number of energy boards and committees including the State of Nebraska’s Broadband Taskforce and IT Commissioner’s Community Council.

Founded in 1938 and headquartered in El Dorado, KS, Butler Electric Cooperative provides electrical service to Butler County as well as Chase, Cowley, Greenwood, Harvey, Marion, and Sedgwick counties. Through its membership in the Kansas Electric Power Cooperative (KEPCo), BEC has access to nuclear-generated power, hydro-generated power, and two solar farms. Through these facilities and KEPCo’s providers, about 64% of the electric power provided to BEC’s members is derived from non-carbon-based sources. BEC also provides high-speed broadband internet service to members and non-members in Butler County and adjacent areas.
