CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner again with Nucor in the appointment of senior finance and strategy executive Chris Jacobi as Director of Investor Relations. He will report directly to Jack Sullivan, Vice President, Treasurer & General Manager, Investor Relations, and a previous CarterBaldwin placement.

Chris brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience at Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), spanning investor relations, capital markets, financial planning, regulatory affairs, and strategic growth. Most recently, he served as Director of Investor Relations, leading all aspects of investor engagement, including earnings, conferences, and ESG outreach, and advising the CEO, CFO, and board.

Previously, as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Chris oversaw the financial strategy for $6 billion in revenue and played a key role in the sale of a minority interest in Duke Energy Indiana. In treasury and corporate finance, he led debt and equity financing, raising $20 billion in capital, managed $5 billion in derivatives transactions, and led treasury strategy for Duke’s acquisition of Piedmont Natural Gas.

Earlier in his career, Chris held leadership roles in customer strategy and business development, supporting product launches, regulatory initiatives, and merger integration following Duke’s acquisition of Progress Energy.

A Charlotte native, Chris holds an MBA in finance and a BA in history and political science from Wake Forest University.
