CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with Great Lakes Energy (GLE) announces the appointment of Denne’ Smith as vice president of human resources for the Michigan-based electric cooperative. A key member of the executive leadership team, she will lead human resources and strategic and organizational development.
Denne’ joins GLE having spent her entire career in the energy sector. Previously, she served 18 years with Wabash Valley Power Alliance as director of human resources and member business support, where she led the Generation and Transmission company’s human resources and strategic member services for 23 distribution cooperative members.
She began her career as an accountant and financial analyst before joining Wabash Valley Power Alliance. Earlier, Denne’ earned her MBA from the University of Indianapolis and has dual bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting from Blackburn College. She is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management Professional in Human Resources (SHRM PHR).
