CarterBaldwin Executive Search is pleased to announce the naming of building materials distribution and logistics executive John Sewall, as Chief Executive Officer for Georgia Metals.

John joins Georgia Metals from The Detering Company, a privately owned building materials company, where he led both The Detering Company and South Texas Brick and Stone businesses as Chief Executive Officer and was responsible for significant revenue growth in the more than six years at the helm.

Prior to Detering, John was Vice President of Operations for Trussway Manufacturing (Highland Capital), a supplier of manufactured floor, roof, and wall components for multi-family construction projects, and General Manager for Central Texas Markets at USI Building Solutions.

John began his career as a sales rep at Calcasieu Lumber Company and M2 Gobal Technology, then joined Stock Building Supply as a Branch Manager and later, Bison Building Materials, LLC, as Regional Manager.

John earned his BBA in marketing from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
