CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with HOPE South Florida, announces the appointment of Joseph Kenner as the faith-based nonprofit’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Joe joins HOPE South Florida from Greyston Bakery, a Bronx, New York-based brownie bakery best known for supplying brownie bits to Ben & Jerry’s and a nationally recognized leader in inclusive employment and workforce development. As CEO, Joe expanded beyond Greyston’s core business by securing partnerships with Emirates Airlines, Cava, and Magnolia Bakery and significantly increased revenue to fund the Greyston Foundation – the nonprofit arm that provides training programs for more than 200 annually.

Prior to Greyston, Joe served as Deputy Commissioner of Social Services for Westchester County, New York. In this role, he launched a pioneering fatherhood initiative aimed at helping non-custodial fathers rebuild relationships with their children. He also held a COO-like role as Senior Advisor to the County Executive, overseeing 16 departments and a $2 billion budget.

Joe’s early career includes nearly a decade at PepsiCo, where he progressed through risk management, capital markets, and sales strategy, as well as stints at Lehman Brothers and Chubb.

Joe holds an MBA from Pace University and a BS in political economy from Williams College.

About HOPE South Florida
Since 1995, HOPE South Florida has been a beacon of hope for individuals and families transitioning from homelessness to stability. Partnering with local churches and community organizations, HOPE South Florida provides critical services such as crisis housing, shared meals, mobile showers, case management, employment assistance, and a rapid re-housing program. Originally founded as The Shepherd’s Way, the organization began with housing a homeless family on Thanksgiving Day. Over time, it expanded to offer a holistic continuum of care, addressing both immediate needs and long-term stability. In 2010, eight of Fort Lauderdale’s largest churches united to form HOPE South Florida, strengthening its mission to “Build Hope, Housing, and Community.”
