About Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative – NOVEC
On January 1, 1983, Tri-County Electric Cooperative and Prince William Electric Cooperative consolidated to become NOVEC, a locally owned electric distribution system headquartered in Manassas, VA. The creation of NOVEC and the service of larger investor-owned electric utilities provided rural Northern Virginians electricity they had been living and working without. Today, NOVEC provides reliable electric service to more than 180,000 homes and businesses in Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William and Stafford Counties, the City of Manassas Park, and the Town of Clifton – a service territory spanning 651 square miles with more than 7,200 miles of power lines.
