Project Description

The Board of the WinShape Foundation announced today that Michael Schieffer has accepted the position of president, effective January 1, 2015.

Mr. Schieffer most recently served as the Executive Administrator and Chief Executive Officer at Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Prior to that he served for 18 years  in various leadership roles with the Starbucks Coffee Company.  He is married to Nanette and they have two young adult children.

“I am truly blessed by the opportunity to serve, and be part of such a great legacy. I look forward to supporting and contributing to the amazing work that was started in 1982 by Truett and Jeannette Cathy. These are exciting times and may God receive all the glory as WinShape continues to fulfill its vision and mission by honoring its legacy of generosity and service to others.

Over 30 years ago the Cathy’s had a vision to create an organization that would cultivate relationships and transform lives of young people. Today that vision exists and thrives as the WinShape Foundation. The Cathy’s’ desire to “shape winners” has now bloomed into a robust ministry model that impacts students and adults alike.  The WinShape Foundation now includes six different ministry focus areas – the college program, homes, camps, wilderness, retreat and marriage. Though WinShape Foundation has broadened its scope, its overall mission remains constant: to be a catalyst for life transformation, by helping people reach their long term potential.

“CarterBaldwin Executive Search is extraordinarily grateful for the privilege afforded us in serving such a great organization,” says Price Harding, Senior Partner.  “We feel that in identifying key leaders for organizations like WinShape, we are not only serving our client, but also touching the lives of those who will be blessed by their ministry.
