CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with the Augusta Preparatory Day School Board of Trustees, is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Hedinger as the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2024.
Eric currently serves as Head of the Upper School at Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC, where he started as an English teacher and soccer coach in 1996. Eric was appointed Assistant Upper School Head in 2008 and Head of Upper School in 2012. During his tenure, Eric grew enrollment in the upper school from 450 to over 700 while maintaining excellence in both academic and extra-curricular programs.
“Mr. Hedinger’s depth of experience in education, fiscal management, recruiting, hiring, and retaining faculty, professional development, coaching, and leadership make him an ideal fit for Augusta Prep and the right person to lead the school forward,” said Thomas R. Burnside III, Chairman, APDS Board of Trustees.
A recognized leader in education, Eric has served over five times on the SAIS Accreditation of Schools Team. He also served on the Board of Trustees Finance and Risk Committees at Providence Day School.
Eric earned an MEd in English and secondary education from Winthrop University and a BA in English from Frostburg State University, where he was a member of the men’s varsity soccer team.
