CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner again with Grove City College in the appointment of Brian James as Chief Marketing Officer.
Brian brings three decades of national brand and creative leadership to Grove City, most recently from Carnegie Mellon University, where he served as Senior Director of Creative for the University Communications and Marketing team. During his tenure, he built a digital asset management system, redesigned the campus sign system, co-led the university’s first brand blueprint, reactivated a stalled website redesign, and directed a brand reputation media campaign.
Earlier, Brian served as Partner and Vice President of Creative Services at New Perspective Communications, a Pittsburgh production house that grew into a full-service regional agency. He led the restructuring of the business from an interactive and video production studio into a full-stack agency, serving clients including Giant Eagle, Westinghouse, and Seton Hall University.
Brian also founded B. James Branding Group, growing the brand consulting and design firm, serving clients including Wisp Resort, Quest Diagnostics, and Federated Investors. He began his career at MatchPoint Marketing, MARC USA, and Coyne Beahm, directing national brand campaigns for clients such as Clorox, Coca-Cola and Rite Aid Pharmacy.
Brian holds a BS in graphic design from Frostburg State University. He has served on the marketing advisory board of North Way Christian Community and the professional advisory committee of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
