Project Description

CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner with Bluefield University in the appointment of Dr. Steven Peterson as the University’s tenth President in its 102-year history.

Peterson brings nearly three decades of Christian higher education experience in leadership, advocacy, recruitment, and student aid to Bluefield, most recently from Houston Christian University, where he leads their Adult & Graduate Studies division as Vice President for Online/Digital Learning. Prior to joining HCU in 2017, Peterson served for more than two decades with Liberty University’s financial aid, advancement, and admissions teams and was instrumental to the success of Liberty University’s admissions team as the institution neared 100,000 enrolled students in 2016.

“The Board is very excited that Dr. Peterson has agreed to become the next President of Bluefield University,” said Jack Reasor, Chair of the Board of Trustees, “and we believe, with God’s blessing, he will be a leader to move Bluefield University forward.”

Peterson earned an MA in religion, MBA, and EdD in educational leadership from Liberty University. He has published articles on leadership, institutional policy and marketing and offered presentations on adult learner enrollment and student retention.
