CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with the Fort Bend Christian Academy Board of Trustees, is pleased to announce Stephen Novotny as the next Head of School for the faith-based K-12 independent school.
Stephen is nationally renowned for his work in education, public policy, law, organizational leadership, governance, and the protection of religious freedom. He currently serves as Special Advisor and Senior Consultant at Graybeal & Associates, leveraging his expertise to assist Christian schools and nonprofit organizations across the country in areas such as operational best practices, safeguarding religious freedom, strategic planning, crisis management, and policy governance. Stephen also served as Vice President of Public Policy and General Counsel for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Prior to his policy advising roles, he served for over a decade as Head of School at Cypress Christian School in Houston, TX. He started his career as a litigation and business attorney for ExxonMobil and Watterson-Prime, LLC.
Stephen holds a JD from Baylor University and BS in political science from Liberty University. He served on active duty in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant, earning an Army Commendation Medal for leadership and ultimately earning the rank of Captain as a Reservist.
