CarterBaldwin Executive Search is proud to partner with Mount Paran Christian School in the naming of Dr. Matt Kerlin as the school’s next Head of School, effective June 1, 2024.
Kerlin will join the Mt. Paran community following the completion of the school year at Southlake Christian Academy in Huntersville, NC, where he is the current head of school. Prior to Southlake, Kerlin served as Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Assistant Dean of Spiritual Life at Samford University. He is also a former Senior Campus Minister for Baptist Campus Ministries at The University of Alabama.
“Dr. Kerlin is a shepherding, pastoral leader with deep relational capabilities and a strategic thinker and team builder who has the vision and foresight to drive MPCS to new heights,” said George Ethridge, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for MPCS. “The Board is incredibly excited about the hiring of Dr. Kerlin, as we believe that God has guided the Kerlins to MPCS.”
Kerlin earned his PhD in historical theology from Baylor University, an MBA from Samford University, an MA in theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a BA in music from Louisiana State University.
