CarterBaldwin Executive Search joins partner Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) in announcing Scott Barnes as Vice President of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer.

Scott comes to PBA from Geneva College, a private, Christian school in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, where he served as Vice President of Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer. In his new role, he will serve as a member of the President’s cabinet and will support the development and implementation of a vision for Christian higher education at PBA that meets the challenges of the 21st century and beyond.

“Scott is a dynamic, relational, and results-driven technology leader who has deep experience working with data analytics and business intelligence in higher education and healthcare,” said PBA President Dr. Debra Schwinn. “He brings a customer-centric, collaborative mindset that will be advantageous to his leading a department critical to the University’s continued success and future growth.”

At Geneva, Scott chaired the COVID-19 task force, the College Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the information technology oversight committee. He also developed and implemented the college’s risk management and cybersecurity policies. Previously, Scott served as director of information services at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he directed the transition of IT infrastructure to the children’s hospital’s new $625 million, 296-bed main hospital, research, and administration buildings.

Scott holds a BS in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems from Robert Morris University and an MS in Cybersecurity from Geneva College.
