CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with The Out-of-Door Academy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Skylar Beaver as Chief Advancement Officer.
Skylar joins ODA from The Lawrenceville School, where she most recently served as Director of Development, securing $8.5 million in major and principal gifts in the first half of FY25 and contributing to the school’s record-breaking $475 million campaign. Since joining in 2018 as Director of the Lawrenceville Fund, she advanced through leadership roles to Interim Chief Advancement Officer, driving record annual giving, exceeding campaign goals by $50 million, and surpassing annual fund targets by $10 million ahead of schedule.
Prior to this role, Skylar was Director of the Annual Fund at The Spence School in New York City. There, she achieved 94% parent participation and over 50% alumnae participation in giving. She also served as Director of Annual Giving at Washington and Lee University, where she led annual giving efforts during a $542 million campaign. She began her career at her alma mater, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, working with young alumni, reunion, and class campaign gifts before being promoted to Director of the Annual Fund.
Skylar holds an MPA with a focus on nonprofit management from SUNY Brockport and a BA in sociology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she played on the varsity field hockey team.
