CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with Telos Classical Academy, announces the appointment of Dr. Anthony Sciubba as Head of School. He will begin serving the Telos community on June 15.

Sciubba currently serves as Headmaster of Great Hearts Archway Classical Academy Scottsdale, a K-5 charter school, where he has strengthened faculty culture and retention by 68% and reversed a declining kindergarten enrollment. Prior to Great Hearts, he was the Academic Dean at Heritage Preparatory School in Atlanta, a private classical Christian school, where he led the launch of the high school program while also teaching middle and high school history, humanities, theology, Bible, and logic. Under his leadership, the upper school enrollment grew by more than 150%, and the school’s first graduating class achieved the highest average Classic Learning Test 10 score in the US.

A leader among scholars, Sciubba holds a BA in history and religion from Pepperdine University, as well as master’s degrees from Yale (history of Christianity), Oxford (late antique and Byzantine studies), and Emory (history), and a PhD in history from Emory. While at Oxford, he was a C.S. Lewis Scholar-in-Residence. He can read in seven languages, including Greek, Latin, Syriac, Hebrew, French, German, and Spanish.
