CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with The Master’s Academy, announces the appointment of Darryl De Ruiter as the next Head of School. He takes the leadership reins on July 1, 2024.

Darryl joins The Master’s Academy with more than 35 years of experience in education, most recently serving as interim Superintendent at Central Valley Christian Schools in southern California – the same school where his career began, in the classroom. He would also serve as CVCS’s athletic director before moving to Iowa to teach and coach varsity soccer at Unity Christian High School.

He later served as high school principal and Head of School for two struggling Christian schools in Michigan and Iowa, making a transformative impact in both through fundraising, new campus creation, and academic and athletic program development. He also coached varsity soccer for Dordt University and spent three years in Haiti as the chief operating officer for Many Hands for Haiti.

A California native, Darryl earned his MS in educational leadership from Buena Vista University and his BA in secondary education and teaching from Dordt University, where he also played varsity soccer.  In addition, he recently completed the Van Lunen Fellows program for executive management in Christian schools.
