CarterBaldwin Executive Search, together with the Board of Trustees at Brentwood Academy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jason Powell as Director of Development for the faith-based, independent school.
Powell joins Brentwood with more than 22 years of independent and public education administration experience, serving as heads of school for The Christ School in Orlando, FL and St. Paul Christian Academy in Nashville, TN. He began his career in the public school system, serving two county public schools in the classroom as well as in administration roles including principal, dean of students, director of school choice services, and athletic coach.
In addition to his experience with K-12 schools, Powell spent time consulting education clients in the development of charter school proposals, where he monitored, analyzed, and impacted legislation governing education facilities and charter schools at the local, state, and national level. He is also an adjunct professor at Gordon College.
Powell earned his EdD in educational leadership and administration from the University of Central Florida and an MA in educational leadership and administration, and a BS in mathematics education from Florida State University.
