Project Description

CarterBaldwin Executive Search announces the appointment of Dr. Matt Lucas as President and Chief Executive Officer for Our Daily Bread Ministries (ODBM). Lucas’s appointment is the result of a nationwide search following the retirement of longtime president Rick DeHaan.

Lucas joins ODBM from Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) where he was Chancellor, serving as the chief administrative officer of the IWU National and Global campus. Prior to IWU, Lucas served for more than a decade at Corban University in Salem, OR. Initially hired to begin the school’s first graduate program, Lucas became its dean and ultimately the University’s Provost and Executive Vice President. Prior to his experience in higher education, Lucas was a high school educator and soccer coach.

“Dr. Lucas continues to demonstrate why he was the ideal person to become the new President and CEO of Our Daily Bread Ministries,” said Martin Doorn, chairman of the Board of Directors of ODBM. “We are grateful for a successful search and deeply appreciative of Bill Peterson for his tireless work as he guided us through our search for a new President and CEO. Bill took the time to learn our culture and expectations and the excellent result speaks for itself.”

At ODBM, Lucas will build on the ministry’s successful 83-year history and position it to capitalize on current and future opportunities that will expand its impact and global presence.

Lucas earned his Doctor of Arts and Master of Arts in English from Idaho State University and his BS in English and Secondary Education from Western Baptist College, where he was an Academic All-American and NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
